VS Code hide AI features

VS Code is pushy about its AI: the chat sidebar opens on startup and Copilot nudges appear even when you live in Claude Code or Codex CLI inside the terminal. One checkbox turns all of it off:

Settings → search @id:chat.disableAIFeatures → check the box

That single setting disables all built-in AI features — no chat sidebar on open, no Copilot nudges. For finer-grained control, search Settings for ai and toggle the individual entries.
