aqua’s Standard Registry (aquaproj): the huge shared registry of CLI version/download metadata that aqua — and for years mise — resolved tools through. Maintained by szkdash, now co-author of packslip.
Learnings
- The quiet infrastructure under both aqua and mise: registry metadata quality is the whole game for this tool class. Its author teaming with jdx on packslip moves that metadata upstream to vendors (signed manifests) instead of community-maintained registry entries — the structural fix for registry rot and typosquat risk.
