Spotifast
Spotify, native and fast. Spotifast is a Spotify client written in Rust with egui. It plays music through librespot, typically uses 100–250 MB of RAM, starts in well under a second, and has no browser engine. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Playback needs Spotify Premium. Free accounts can browse and search, but cannot play music through Spotifast.

Placement
Consumer-facing proof of the Rust-native vs Electron thesis: egui (immediate-mode GUI) + librespot playback in 100–250 MB with sub-second cold start and zero browser engine — against Electron clients’ GB-class footprint. Same lane as mygo (OSS) (~44 MB native-GPU UI vs ~62 MB webview) and the broader native renaissance. Sibling app ZapFast (WhatsApp, same recipe) shares the crmne/fastframe framework — one native shell, multiple messengers/music clients.
